Mitchell Collection Bike 14

Mk1 1967 (Wighty)

Make and Model: BSA B40 GB

Year of manufacture: 1967

Military Reg no: 76 ET 83

Dispatch date: Being researched

Military History: Being researched

Civilian History:

This nice original MK1 was sold off at auction on the 9th March 1987 and was registered by the previous owner on the 1st March 1988. It remained in that ownership for the next 20 years until purchased for the collection in March 2008. Up until that point it had spent all its civilian life gracing the quiet roads of the Isle of Wight.

An engine rebuild has just been finished, having found the root of the problem being a broken bearing cage on the timing side main bearing. As a consequence, the motor has been fully rebuilt with an array of new components to ensure trouble free riding now and in the future.

It retains the vast majority of the original WD specification equipment, with few exceptions.
